Dweeb Productions was founded in January 2002 by current Artistic Director Jon Whittle. Its first production was Dances with Beckett, a pure movement-based theatre piece exploring the characters of Samuel Beckett. A second version of this show, Beckett’s Last Dance, was produced at the 2002 San Francisco International Fringe Festival to much critical acclaim: “I think this kind of quality work should really be more widely seen in San Francisco… I think you have a real work of art here” “I am inspired by your intelligence, wit and talent, and by your energy and boldness”
In 2003, Dweeb produced Searching for God In Kerala, a multimedia theater production with dance and physical theater. It won Best of Fringe at the 2003 San Francisco International Fringe Festival.
